Ryan, at 5 years old, is able to attend to his basic needs. One morning, I woke up and he was preparing his own toast with peanut butter and jelly. After that, he went to wash his dishes. Then he turned to me saying: "Are you proud of me mom?". I hugged him tight coz I know at this point he is no longer the baby we used to have.
I'd say school had influenced them so positively that their independence had improved significantly that I don't have to worry much about them. The problem is I miss the baby in him already.
